Medical Director / Compliance Officer

IMC operates under the guidance and support of the Medical Director/Compliance Officer, who directly reports to the Executive Vice President/President and CEO. Coordination and communication with other appropriate individuals or colleagues are the key functions of the Medical Director/Compliance Officer with regard to planning, implementing or enhancing the Corporate Compliance Program. 

Jaime Nguyen, MD is the Medical Director/Compliance Officer for Informed Medical Communications and its subsidiaries. Jaime was appointed to this position following two years of distinguished service as a moderator on numerous IMC programs. Jaime holds an MD from MSIH and Columbia University Medical Center, an MPH from the University of Pittsburgh , and an MS in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology from the University of Toledo . Additionally, Jaime is a certified Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical Device Compliance Officer. Prior to joining IMC in 2006, Jaime had over 10 years of experience in the areas of pharmacology and drug design, medicine and public health, and healthcare analysis. She also held numerous international clinical leadership roles across multiple therapeutic areas and served on two federal advisory committees while working for the Department of Health and Human Services. 

The primary responsibilities of the Medical Director/Compliance Officer include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive, organization-wide Corporate Compliance Program to ensure full adherence to federal and state regulatory requirements and recommendations, including disseminating and implementing written policies and procedures;
  • Serving as an internal authority and resource on relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and recommendations;
  • Developing and maintaining a system of compliance training for all required employees that will include an annual certification and quarterly updates;
  • Collaborating with all levels of management to prevent and detect misconduct and violations, according to the guidelines and standards outlined by IMC’s Corporate Compliance Program and clients;
  • Advising on the systems of processing and documenting as it relates to compliance, including discussion guides and the selection of educational items of appreciation (EIOAs);
  • Supporting the Company during client trainings;
  • Conducting internal monitoring and auditing of meetings to ensure a high level of compliancy and training in the moderator team and all other employees;
  • Providing input and/or direction to moderator performance evaluations to ensure improper conduct is identified and appropriately addressed; and
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Compliance Program.
